final-project-research: hello,
how are you?
i somehow found your blog as I am holidaying in copenhagen next week and was trying to find out some cool places to go/see. any recommendations?

ps you're blog is nice and makes me excited to see the city

Hi, I’m doing great, thank you!
I would highly recommend renting a bike and riding through the city, there are several green bicycle routes you can look up. Copenhagen is a fairly small city but I haven’t explored enough of it yet. I hope you can find this useful!

• Kogens Have - Kings Garden, really beautiful and you can see the “summer castle”, Rosenborg Castle
• Statens Museum for Kunst - National art gallery, very close to the Kings Garden
• Louisiana Museum - you have to take the train there but it is so worth it if you are interested in art, architecture, nature. If you go to the ticket booth you can get a round trip ticket + admission ticket as a package for a better deal
• Ordrupgaard Museum - Also a little out of the city but it’s worth visiting if you like impressionism. Zaha Hadid designed the extension.
• Amalienborg - Queens Palace. Across the water you can see the Opera House/Royal Playhouse, and down the road you can visit Frederiks Kirke, The Marble Church.
• Christiania - I haven’t been yet but apparently it’s a must.
• Frederiksborg Palace, next to it is the Zoo and a nice big park across. The Carlsberg Brewery is also in that area, there are also some fun playground-like installations outside
• Rundetårn - The Round Tower, you can get a view of the city from there
• Nyhavn - I think this is what everyone pictures Copenhagen to be. Little colorful row houses with cafés and bars along the canal.
• Amager Strand Beach or Havnebad (Harbour Bath) - Nice on a sunny day, though the Harbour Baths don’t open until summer
•  Kastellet - Presereved fortification; also nice for a warm day. There is also an old windmill there but you can’t get that close to it
• Black Diamond Library- behind it is the Danish Jewish Museum, it’s small but interesting to experience and a nice little secret garden
• Tivoli - little amusement park, the original inspiration for Disneyland; I haven’t been to it but it opens up on April 14th if you are still here
• Strøget and Strædet- The main pedestrian shopping streets…also Læderstræde the street next to Strøget/Amagertorv  has a some nice restaurants
Gråbrødretorv - Grey Brothers sq. also has cute restaurants along the way and in the square itself
Domhusets Smørrebrød - for traditional Danish open-face sandwiches
• Paludan Bogcafe- cozy cafe, many university students go here
• La Glace or Lagkagehuset - both famous for layered cakes
• Nørrebro is a very diverse area of Copenhagen, good for food, bars, hangout spots

Copenhagen X
or Dask Ark Guide is a great guide if you enjoy architecture
Rejseplanen good planning transportation routes
AOK guide for everything else - restaurants, bars etc
